Prescott Ranch Neighborhood School

Big changes are coming to Belgrade, and it looks like they’re going to mean lots of smiles for elementary school students. In the last few weeks, the Belgrade school district broke ground on a new elementary school that has been in the works for a while now. Prescott Ranch homeowners with growing families can celebrate because the school is being developed just adjacent to the neighborhood on nearby Bolinger Road.

Growing Responsibly

The new school is set to replace Heck-Quaw Elementary School, leaving that building to be renovated and potentially house overflow students as the community continues to grow. The new elementary school going in on Bolinger will be able to accommodate even more students for a positive and nurturing learning environment. This is excellent news for Belgrade students and their families as the town welcomes new families and builds new homes, like the growing community at Prescott Ranch.

The 18.9-acre plot on Bolinger Road will hold the new 68,000-square-foot elementary school, with a modern design and welcoming atmosphere. It’s slated to open its doors to students as soon as 2021. As construction begins, we’re seeing a true Montana partnership, with everyone working collaboratively to bring the best to students.

Thanks to the People of Belgrade

“It was a huge team effort with a lot of individuals involved and a lot of work and time,” Superintendent Godfrey Saunders said to the Belgrade News in February of 2019 when the $48 million bond passed with voters. “We are very, very grateful to the public and our voters for their support.” That bond goes toward the new school, as well as contributing to three other projects that will help the school district expand and serve more families.

On top of the initial bid, the project managers will be seeking approval from the school board for some additions like new kitchen equipment, fold-down basketball hoops, and a classroom amplification system, according to the Belgrade News

The school board is working hard to “ensure that facilities provide equal opportunities to all students and teachers across the Belgrade community,” as stated in the master plan for the project.

A Win for Prescott Ranch Families

The convenience of being able to drop off and pick up the kiddos right down the road, on top of easy access for school programs and performances, means more family time goes back to you. That just translates to more barbecues, more time playing catch at the park, or riding bikes through the neighborhood together, instead of time spent driving to and from school. Being just minutes away lets the kids have more time to enjoy being at home, too, and it gives them those extra minutes to be playing out in the yard before dinner time.
